Great Ocean House has been refurbished to be as flexible as possible. There are numerous living areas that can be used for a variety of purposes depending on requirements. There is much of interest in the local area, particularly for keen cyclists, photographers, artists, golfers, walkers and fishermen.

Great Ocean House makes the perfect artists retreat; painters, musician, photographers, actors and writers can all find inspiration in this special part of the world.

The wild and stunning coastline along The Great Ocean Road has been an inspiration to many artists. The light and colour offers innumerable opportunities to capture this beautiful landscape.

The many secluded ‘spaces’ at the property allow for individuals to work in peace when needed but there are also large areas where groups can gather to review each others work.

Peterborough has both beach and estuary fishing.

The estuary system is the Curdies River, which is known for its Bream and Estuary Perch fishing. There are two boat ramps giving access to the river, a straightforward concrete ramp in town under the main bridge and an impressive ramp a few kms out of town at Boggy Creek near Curdie Vale. Occasionally Mulloway are caught in the river depending on weather the river mouth is open to the sea.

Beach and off-shore fishing are also popular with Australian salmon, sweep, snapper being caught of the main beach and at nearby Newfield and Crofts Bay.

All those fishing need a license and these can be purchased at the local store in Peterborough. Costs range from $6.oo for 48 hours up to $66 for 3 years.

Fishing charters can be arranged through Port Campbell Boat Charters.
