There is plenty to see and do in and around Peterborough.

Locally we have amazing beaches for swimming, fishing and diving. There is estuary and river fishing with boat ramps located in town and further up the river towards Curdivale and the famous Boggy Creek Hotel. There are beautiful coastal walks out towards the Bay of Islands and down the beach past the spit towards the headlands. We have a 9 hole links golf course with some of the best views in the state. There are tennis courts and playgrounds and two local shops with all the essentials. During the summer months there are additional events that take place, including the Peterborough Festival, Australia Day Weekend Festivities with Sandcastle and Fancy Dress competitions for the kids.

In the surrounding region there are a number of natural attractions that are well worth a visit. There are the dramatic rock sculptures of the 12 Apostles, The Bay of Islands, London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge. For an eagles view of this amazing coastline it is also possible to take an Scenic Helicopter Flight from just outside the town. There are rainforests and waterfalls. You can visit some of our native wildlife at Tower Hill Nature Reserve or take a trip to Melba Gully to view the magical glowworms.

The children may like to visit the miniature railway in Cobden, go whale watching near Warrnambool or pick strawberries in the sunshine in Timboon. The town of Timboon is under 20 minutes from Peterborough and is developing a reputation as a foodie destination with amazing cheeses, ice-cream and a selection of cafes including the Distillery Shed where it is possible to sample some of the regions produce.
